These chromolithographs are from Familiar Wild Flowers by F. Edward Hulme and Shirley Hibberd, published in London from 1878 to 1884.
The prints show various wildflowers in full color, produced using chromolithography—a technique in which colors were applied to a printing plate one at a time, and would stack to form a full image.
Though they were originally part of a book, the prints had already been separated when acquired by History Hoard. This is often done when a book is heavily damaged beyond repair, in order to salvage the parts that are still usable.
Each print measures approximately 7.5 x 5 inches.
