Item Description:

Includes glass top leatherette display box.

  • Origin: United States of America, 1960 presidential election
  • Date: 1960
  • Size: 23mm
  • Notes: After serving as vice president under President Eisenhower in the 1950s, Richard Nixon and his running mate Henry Cabot Lodge Jr. challenged the Democratic senator John F. Kennedy in the presidential election of 1960. Nixon would ultimately concede this election in a narrow loss, though he too would go on to become president in 1969. In fact, three out of the four candidates in this election were future presidents—Lyndon B. Johnson, who ran as Kennedy's vice president, was also destined to take office after JFK's assassination in 1963.
