Includes archival-grade plastic banknote sleeve for protection.
Federal Reserve Bank Notes were issued by individual banks of the Federal Reserve, as opposed to the modern day Federal Reserve Notes that are currently used as paper money in the US and were issued by the Federal Reserve system as a whole.
Notably, the 1918 series of one dollar bills was issued while the US transitioned away from the larger sized “Horse Blanket” currency, and is the the only such large format bank note to be issued by the Federal Reserve. The notes feature a portrait of George Washington on the front, and the “Defiant Eagle” on the back, a symbol of America’s strength during World War I. Only a small fraction of these one dollar notes remain in existence today.
