• Condition: Covers stained and creased, pages yellowed but mostly intact.
• Notes: Shinran was Buddhist monk who lived from the late 12th to early 13th centuries and founded the Jōdo Shinshū sect of Buddhism.

Japanese books are read right to left (instead of left to right) and are bound on the right side, contrary to those in Western languages. The pages may be double layered, and care must be taken to ensure that they do not separate when flipping through. The book must be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of bugs.
