Item Description:

Title: Yōshin School: Guide to Floral Arrangements, Covering Three Skills (容真御流花術初伝三才之巻)

Publication Year:  Meiji 36 (1903)

Size: 9.75 x 6 inches

Condition: There is an ink stain on the bottom corner, and the inside front page is detached from the cover. The book is in excellent condition otherwise.

This is a manual for the arrangement of flowers, including sections about specific types of vases and how exactly the plants should be shaped when displayed.

Japanese books are read right to left (instead of left to right) and are bound on the right side, contrary to those in Western languages. The pages may be double layered, and care must be taken to ensure that they do not separate when flipping through. The book must be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of bugs.
