Item Description:

These brass 4 paisa coins from Nepal are far more unique than they may seem. They're made from flattened rifle cartridges, used by the Nepalese Gurkha soldiers while fighting the Japanese in the Pacific theater of World War II. The primer was removed from the empty cartridges to create the coins, which commemorate the Gurkha's victory.

These were struck for only one year in 1955, and are a fascinating piece of World War II history. Each includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
