The magic lantern was an early type of image projector invented in the 17th century. They also have a rich history when it comes to ghost stories, particularly through the Phantasmagoria shows of the late 18th and early 19th centuries. These performances utilized projected images of ghosts, demons, and other supernatural figures to create an immersive and terrifying experience for audiences.
